I'm currently growing avocado seeds, just for fun. Has anyone had experience growing them in water for an extended period of time?

Yesss! They can live for quite awhile just in water, but once it sprouts roots you can put it in a pot, and as it continues to grow, you can continues putting it in larger pots and it will help it to grow more and expand its roots. Ours is currently a tiny little tree, we keep outside in the summer and it does really well out there, then we bring it in when it rains or during the winter. We've kept it alive for a couple years now.😊

@Tosco Of course! Awesome! Yeah, I live where it gets pretty cold in the winter, and unfortunately it is one of those plants that won't thrive outside if it gets below freezing.🥲(edited)
