What was the ultimate "special occasion" meal growing up in your house?

Love it!

Crab cakes! I grew up in Virginia where we would go crabbing. It was so cool seeing all the different crabs and critters we’d pull up. Once we caught enough blue and red crab we would take them home, cook them, and make fresh crab cakes.
