What is ur favorite author and what book(s) from them? Mine is Marissa Meyer and her best selling series

Ooh! Akwaeke Emezi for me. I havent read all their books, certainly, but every last one of them so far has been incredible. The way they write, how genuine everything they create is... It's just raw, honest thoughts that you can tell are not being sugarcoated in any way. I dont know if I've ever read a work from an author that's so purely and clearly them, no apologies, no hiding or sneaking. A little of me slips into my own characters, usually not on purpose, but they pour so much of themselves into their writing. I don't think I've ever read anything like theirs and i doubt i ever will heh... My favourite? Probably their memoir of sorts called Dear Senthuran~

Sounds amazing! For me it's Marissa Meyer. She does young adult book. I love her series The Renegades Trilogy and The Lunar Chronicles. Tye Lunar Chronicles was shared to me by my best friend, who's big sister (my other best friend) had it shared by an older sister. So the series was passed down. I also love her stand alone novel Heartless, it's the first book I'd ever read that didn't end happily ever after. And to be honest it was kinda refreshing.

Oohhh. An author who can play with tragedy and bittersweet endings is fairly rare. Id know cos i definitely like to write happy endings only. The ones that come to mind for me rn are Chiamanda Adichie and Franz Kafka. I've only read a little out of all their works, but yeahhh they definitely play with endings that aren't simply sugarcubes and gumdrops, which i respect, sad as it can get heh. Akwaeke's endings are always interesting. Never fully "oh everything's fine and fixed", but you can see the strength in them reflected so deeply in their work that you can't help but have faith in their power to keep existing despite the pain it causes... All of us, them definitely included. Or at least, hope that they will, which is all any of us can really cling to when worst comes to worst, right?=]
