Is fashion primarily a form of internal self-expression or external social communication?

i find it to be both 🙂 i think self expression in general offers reason to connect - no better way to than finding you express yourself similarly to someone or have the same interests!

I think fashion can be a form of how people express themselves to the world and it can also be trend setting.

Fashion can be a confidence booster as well.  If you don't feel good in what you're wearing, change your outfit.

Some use it as self expression and others to send a message to others. So it entirely depends on the person.
