Question: Why did Batman almost ki🏒🏒 Joker in Batman: Hush when we are told that Damian is the second Robin?

Because if we do not yet know if Jason, Tim, and Stephanie existed as the second, third and fourth. Robin, why would Batman actually have a reason to kill the Joker (besides the a****** making his and Gotham's life a living hell)?
