I watched Good Omens 3 today. Ik it was released a while ago, dont know how long sha, but i wont drop any spoilers. It was nice. And weird as usual. Ending was a bit bittersweet for me, but not in a bad way at all. Still made me smile a lot regardless <3

My main point of discontentment is with God! The way she was written in that scene in the bookshop seemed... out of character? I dont think the way she was in that scene was congruent with the character of God in the other seasons. I also wasnt a huge fan of how Jesus was written either. He felt too naïve for being the son of god lol. I mean they are taking material from the Bible and I just feel like the character of Jesus in Good Omens is like the most basic level understanding of Jesus. Like what someone who has never actually read the Bible might think Jesus is like. Which I just didnt like as other Bible references in the show previously seemed much more fleshed out. Like they dont need to be Bible accurate but like Jesus was not a rounded character at all (maybe this is due to time restraints). I also didnt like how every thing ceased to exist. Like the "human" versions of Crowley and Aziraphale arent them at all. So I didnt find the ending very (cont.)
@Aria_Amethyst thats the beauty of fanfic. when the end of smth doesn't feel like enough, whether cos it was bad or you simply once more, its a saving grace. the heartstopper movie was also a thing where smth that should've veen divided into episodes was squashed together like this. I'm sure both would've been much better if they'd had more time, but i am still glad they at least got ends, of sorts. i definitely imagined the second universe versions of them as reincarnations , in a sense, at least of their will to be together coming into being once more, despite it being without them. one of those "together in every universe" things. but i would've preferred if they'd just gotten the universe back and idk cancelled the "grand plan" part without simply wiping it off... still, at least we got an ending, as much as it upset many people (for good reason too you are totally valid heh, i dont think im as attached to the show which made it matter less)~
emotional because they dont have that history that had been building because its not actually them. Which i think a lot of people have complaints with this. It was fun seeing all those actors in the bar though, like little easter eggs. I also saw people complaining about the lack of another kiss, but I actually didnt mind it. But basically, I'm not considering the final season in my personal canon and I will instead continue to read fanfic endings that I like more lol.
I was talking about this on here awhile ago! tbh i didnt like it 🤷🏼♀️ i didnt have high expectations because i knew it was going to be compressed but i still didnt like the direction they went with the ending
Totally valid. I definitely would've preferred smth that didnt involve everyone..yk being deleted. I was just glad to have an end, tbh, and see them together in some other universe. It's lind of like Heartstopper where they needed a full series but got a movie. The end ended up rushed but i was just relieved to have one at all, in a way. Im so used to series being cancelled... I just imagined the two in the end as reincarnated versions of them, impossible as that may be, made me feel better 🙈
Pfft. Yeahhhh lots of controversy going around over one of the people in charge of the thing, tho idk much about it, i just pirated it and watched it for the sake of seeing an end. I have a weird thing with films ngl, cos i enjoyed the bittersweet ending of Joker 2 as well. The film was weird and clunky and the singing was confusing and there were a lot of issues but it just felt like what was happening in his mind as he... Let's call it "changed" in case you havent watched it. I guess bad writing isn't the same with me as it is with others. I always try to understand the characters and their choices as best i can, even when it's "uncharacteristic" n all 🤭
