Genuine question. At what number does another movie stop sounding surprising?
Because hearing ""Toy Story 5"" still makes me do a double take every time.
I personally feel like going past a sequel in an original franchise comes off as money grabbing. If it's an established ip like Hunger Games etc, then multiple films makes sense to complete the full story for audiences. I felt the same way with Frozen. I felt like the movie could stand alone but then the release of sequel seemed like they wanted to hit while it was hot still.😅(edited)
Yeah, I'm not too sure how deep Toy Story can go further with their movies. Like Shrek, Im not even sure if I want to watch any after Shrek 2
@snoopy It is difficult to get interest once you start getting past sequels. I guess most audiences would ask themselves what else could there possibly be to tell of the story. Also some might be hesitant to watch since they feel like the first (and/or second) film was best and continuing is just cash grab.

I'm honestly not too surprised. Toy Story is an icon and if the studio needs money, they know what to make. I'm just curious who is writing the story now
