Finishing up with dear senthuran by akwaeke emezi. Its their memoir from some time ago. What a book... They've been through so much. Too many of us have, but it's so... Intimately about them that i have to take a moment to pull myself out of their ocean and catch my breath. So personal. Have i read anything so personal before? I dont think ive read anything like it before, and i likely never will again. I found myself a bit too into the author for a beat and had to get distance. It's written as letters to their friends and... Others. And it truly is so genuine that i felt too much for them. Will their books always make me cry? Im sure Freshwater will, theres so many pieces of the book that speak to me just from the synopsis alone... Anygay. Rant over. Im scared to read the ending, but i will, and im glad that they are still here, with me, like i am, with them, through this book, in some strange way. Literature has a way of bending worlds like that, even for a little while <3
