Aside from 'just browsing' what's your secret mission every time you step inside a thrift shop?
Frankly just finding the smallest men's clothing they have available. It can be tricky finding adult men's clothes that fit well as a guy who's 5'4 and skinny. I also collect vintage reference books and my sibling collects clown knickknacks, so if I find an interesting vintage reference book or a cute clown figurine, that's always a plus!

Unfortunately. In my case it's also because I know a bit of sewing and it just makes me so sad to see anything salvageable go to waste that any damaged vintage piece/piece made of good fabric has to come with me to to go to a "good home" (my infinite to-be-mended/altered pile)

It depends on the occasion, but I normally try my best to balance both! Like I would consider an oversized vintage sport coat a wardrobe staple not only because they look put together but also because they normally have lots of pockets and they're very easy to just throw on. I did some thrifting yesterday! I got a couple of cardigans. The first one is $4.49, and the other was $5 and is 100% wool from Norway! I also got a movie I love and a couple of cds:)

The best outfit is always going to depend on the occasion and the weather. The best outfit for a fancy dinner isn't the best outfit for the beach and vice versa. That said, I always feel better when my shirt has buttons. Even if I'm wearing a T-shirt, I'm always going to wear an open button-down on top of it
