I’m trying to collect religious texts since I like to learn about religion and culture. So far I’ve got texts from 3 of the major religions, the Bible (protestant version), the Quran, and the Bhagavad-gītā. I also have the Book of Mormon (which was helpfully annotated by a lds girl I had been interviewing on her experience as a lds woman) and a couple books about witchcraft. I just got the Quran and the Bhagavad-gītā so I havent read them yet (Ive read some of the Quran online but not the whole thing). Anyway thats the post lol. I just find it interesting.
A good book I recommend, Mere Christianity by CS Lewis. Very helpful for someone exploring multiple perspectives.
I was formerly a Christian, I went to a Christian college and took classes on Christianity so personally right now I’m more interested in learning about other religions. But I do know of that book and I’ve read some of his other stuff.
I love how you’re trying to learn and discover new things! It feels like not many people journey in this area of expertise to collect religious texts. I can’t imagine how long all of it will take to read
ESV since its what i grew up reading so its my personal preference though you could argue theres better english translations than that one
